LAGOS STATE AGRICULTURAL LAND HOLDINGS AUTHORITY (ALHA) ACTIVITIES Y2020 – 2022

PAST ACTIVITIES OF ALHA: `

The Lagos State Agricultural Land Holdings Authority is saddled with the development of Agricultural Land resources of the State to achieve food security for the people, it is also committed to accelerate Agricultural production and acquisition/provision of lands to farmers and investors who are ready to contribute to the food security status of the state.

  • In line with the THEMES Agenda of the State Government. The Agency has continued to pursue various Agricultural activities and project to achieve its statutory mandate, among core projects embarked upon in 2020 to date are the acquisition of five hundred (500) hectares of farmland at Igbodu, Epe, Lagos from sixteen (16) Traditional Land Owners which the state Government gave the families the total sum of Thirty Eight million (#38 Million) Naira only as crop compensation.

The Lagos State Government through the Agricultural Land Holdings Authority has also given the families of Ketu Ereyun, Epe, the sum of N21 million as crop compensation in 2022 after duly verifying that the land belongs to the traditional owners.

The Agency has also visited and held several meetings with the representative of the Igbonla traditional land owners, HRM Oba Olufemi Ogunsanwo of the Igbonla family in Epe, Lagos towards the acquisition of thirty- five (35) hectares of land belonging to the family for the proposed Lagos State Aqua Culture Centre of Excellence (LACE) project.

The objective of the LACE project is the establishment of an extensive fish farming scheme in the state, so that Lagos as Centre of Excellence, can boast of being self-dependence in fish farming and production for the benefit of its large population.

The team that visited the proposed site comprised the Hon. Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Mrs. Olatokunbo Emokpae; General Manager, Lagos State Agricultural Land Holdings Authority, Mr. Dapo Are; Head of Operation Department. Mr. Hakeem Anjolaiya among others.

A three-day retreat was also organized by ALHA for members of staff to enhance service delivery to the generality of the populace.
